FabLab Safety

The first thing to do before using the FabLab is to be aware of the safety rules present. These rules help prevent injuries or accidents from happening. Proper attire and behaviours should be exercised in the FabLab.

Proper Attire

- Long pants must be worn
- Covered shoes must be worn (non-slip is best)
- Preferably short sleeves shirt to be worn (long sleeves are to be pulled/folded up)
- Long hair must be tied up
- No loose items allowed (e.g. long necklaces)
- Keep hands free from adornments (e.g. loose bracelets)

Housekeeping Practices

- Always return the tools back to their designated positions after use
- Always keep the workplace neat and orderly after use
- Always clean up chips and dust off machines and work surfaces after use
- Always put unused or leftover materials in the recycle area

Emergency Procedures

In the event of an emergency or incident, seek assistance from the staff in-charge of the FabLab.
If there is no staff around, call the following numbers:
